Description: In 1994, this edition of Street News included featuring protest actions around the country – from the July protests in Twyford Downs fighting against the Criminal Justice Bill, to the protests on the River Thames in October against the £33 billion Trident Missile Programme, to the Disabled activists’ protest outside the Tate Gallery against its policy which allows only allowed six wheelchair users to access the gallery at a time. Other protests include the anti-World Bank protest which directly connects to the protest against the construction of the Tibet Holiday Inn, which was the biggest foreign currency earner in Tibet supporting the Chinese occupation of the country since 1949. Another protest in July at the London Ministry of Defence stands against the sale of Hawk aircrafts to Indonesia to facilitate the genocide in East Timor.
