Summary: IT: 'Latymer School Documentary (continued)'. Boys sawing at the base of a tree that falls down. Another boy chops at the base of a tree. Wider shot of boys putting branches onto a large fire. Lots of general shots of boys chopping trees, sawing wood or burning the branches. Boys queueing up and get issued a lunch box. More sawing and chopping of trees. Little notice of safety with trees being felled very near where other boys are working. Wide shot of campsite with one large tent and a number of smaller tents, a group of boys walk away from the tents. IT: '1945: Forestry Camp, Cark in Cartnell, N.Lancs'. Boys chopping trees, cutting wood, various shots of this activity. Section of film very badly scratched. Boys are also cutting down Coppice Trees. Night shot: bonfire with boys walking in front. Shots of fruit picking - baskets with lots of fruit in, farmer is showing young girls what's in the basket. Girls are getting paid by the farmer for the work. They drive off in a car, before shots of girls at work, picking. Shot of big group of girls on a lunch break, handing round cups of tea, and pass the baskets of fruits up to the back of his truck. Girls cleaning windows of what appears to be small chalets. Sat down outside, some of them are peeling potatoes or similar; girls picking apples - one of the girls is up a ladder.
