Summary: This film was taken at Winterbourne Girls School, Thornton Heath to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary in 1935. The jubilee was an occasion of great public rejoicing and the girls of Winterbourne School were obviously keen to play their part.

Overhead view of a open air performance area, with three steps leading up a stage are. A number of schoolgirls run and dance around the front of the stage. Pairs of girls dance in a circle, and form a long line dancing across the screen. A number of girls formally dressed in tabards and hold a ceremonial pennant and form a line of honour on the steps. A mock ceremony appears to take place with a girl. (Head girl?) in graduation uniform is being presented to the stage, and bows to four other girls also in graduation uniform who bow back. Two groups of girls in graduation uniform flank the Head Girl(?) on either side of the stage cups and a shield are displayed in front of the girls as the ceremony continues. A line of girls bow down to the front of the stage.
A number of girls in period costume perform a dance-in the manner of a georgian regency country style dance.
An aerial shot of a number of schoolgirls in keep fit outfits perform an exercise display in front of the stage before the graduation class, routines include leap frog, high jump, cartwheels,followed by a dance routine with exercise rings.
A girl is dressed as Britannia and is brought to the stage by the Head Girl(?) who bows before her, together with the rest of the class and guard of honour who then leave the stage.
Britannia is joined by three other girls in similar white flowing dresses. A number of girls dance around a maypole in front of the stage. Eight girls dressed in scottlish highland costume take part in a tradition dance, followed by further dances in other costumes representing the empire.
Groups of people in national dress approach the stage presenting gifts to Britannia.
A procession of girls in costumes take part in a ceremony with Britannia and the Head Girl, who crown a girl in a white flowing dress and train with flowers. The newly crowned girl then ascends the stage with a number of girls holding her flowing train and sits down.
A number of girls take part in a choreographed celebration dance before the stage.
A panoramic view of the performance space and audience, and can see the space has been marked out with high level garlands. A close up view of the 'May Queen' sitting on her throne. wearing her floral tiara and holding a bunch of carnations.
School girls are seen parading, leaving the event in different costumes such as Regency, colonial, ballerina. Also there are a troupe of girl guides. Some of the younger children are holding hoops.
Teachers(?) look on enjoying the events. They are dressed in summer clothes with scoop necks and assorted panama hats with elegantly shaped brims.
