Description: Segment 1 The intertitles explain that a method of securing anatomical reduction without anaesthesia, manipulation, special apparatus or skilled assistance will be shown. The patient is shown being prepared for treatment in hospital. The patient's history is given by intertitles he was hit by a lorry and has a crushed vertebra though the spinal cord is unharmed. A jacket is put on to the patient's torso and bandaged and plastered, the intertitles explaining how to fit it properly. The intertitles also explain how to make the patient comfortable. When the jacket is dry, the patient is encouraged to move about and sit up. He is turned at regular intervals. The patient must conduct exercises for the spine three times a day.
