Summary: Three items:

1. Mayor giving speech: possibly an out-take from the British Movietone newsreel that follows, or from the film 'Heston and Isleworth Charter Celebrations 3rd October 1932' (LSA/0550).

2. British Movietone News item 'London Has Another Municipal Borough' (digitised, 1 min 29 sec): Incomplete newsreel in which the footage seems to be in the wrong order. It opens with the intertitle 'Duke of Gloucester Gives New Charter: H.R.H. presents scroll on Great West Road founding Heston and Isleworth as Municipal Borough'. the car of the Duke of Gloucester (Prince Henry) drives under a banner hung across the street proclaiming 'Heston and Isleworth Charter Celebrations'. The car pulls up to the marquee where the speeches will take place. On one side of the street, press photographers get into position to photograph the duke's arrival while on the opposite side, a military unit stands to attention. A man in ceremonial military dress salutes the duke as he gets out of the car. H.J. Nias, the charter mayor, shakes his hand and bows. The next scene shows the duke, mayor, and the charter mayor's mace-bearer getting into the car and driving off. The next shot is a close-up of the duke and mayor at the marquee. The duke presents the mayor with the charter. They shake hands. The mayor bows to the duke and then steps up to the microphone to begin his speech as the film abruptly ends.

3. Military parade: possibly an out-take from the British Movietone newsreel, or from the film 'Heston and Isleworth Charter Celebrations 3rd October 1932' (LSA/0550).
