Summary: Footage mainly from the 1950s and 1960s.

Video record in colour of London's dock system. Shot during the 1950s and 60s during the prime time of the docks. Featuring the Surrey Commercial, India, Millwall, Royals and Tilbury docks. Dockside activity, ships arriving and departing, Many world famous vessels. Scenes of the Thames itself with ships from around the world as well as tugs, barges, dredgers, coasters & colliers including the unique 'Flatrons'. Special Features include a journey by barge along the Regents Canal about 1920; Classic paddles-steamers on the Woolwich free ferry & on excursion traffic; PLA dock tours and Glimpses of trains and Trolleybuses; as well as the PLA's own railway system & Becton Gasworks.
