Description: A film presented by the Public Health Department of the City of Birmingham, showing diphtheria prevention work being carried out at two schools and a welfare centre in Birmingham. In the schools a series of 5-year-old children are treated by a female doctor and a female nurse, who quickly deliver the injections.. All the children take the injection without complaint and many smile as they go. At the welfare centre, pre-school children are treated, with a few babies crying at the injections. The film ends with a comparison between an inoculation and a rushed ambulance visit to hospital with a sick child, asking parents which they would choose for their own offspring.
