Quote:
I think my favourite film has to be the Enfield Charter Day celebrations film 'Birth of a Borough'. Made in 1955 it offers a fascinating glimpse into Enfield's past and the film has plenty of local footage of well known and familiar landmarks taken from mainly around the Town area of Enfield. It also shows both Enfield's Mayor J Cottenham together with the Lord Mayor of London Sir Seymour Howard as Enfield goes through some of its celebrations as it becomes a municipal borough.
